in your work as a travel advisor.

Because travel and tourism remains one of the fastest growing industries out there, jobs are certainly available. A job planning travel for others allows you to explore your own travel interests before embarking on a journey. If this is a career that interests you, take note—a future in the luxury travel industry might be for you!

First, be sure you’re dedicated to travel on a professional level. Be passionate about helping people achieve their travel dreams at any level or budget. As with any business, it’s a good idea to begin with friends. Go through your list of personal and professional contacts and connect with people you know who might be interested in travel. This way, you’ll get some experience, a few positive reviews, and start a business portfolio.

Next, make sure you are offering value to your clients. They’re going to be paying for more than just their trip if they employ your services, so set yourself apart. Make the trip easier for them. Build connections with businesses abroad that can offer exclusive deals. Find a way to make your services special and therefor desirable. Networking will be key to your success as a travel advisor—the more relationships you build, the more you’ll have to offer.

It may also be helpful to establish relationships with travel agencies and advisors with whom you will be able to leverage relationships and better serve your clients. Similarly, make sure you’re signing up for industry magazine and email or online newsletters from travel sites, organizations, and bloggers. Find out what’s going on out there by looking for information that may be helpful.

Finally, use the power of social media to find and connect with potential clients. Advertise, find other industry professionals, and look for clients on Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus. Use these platforms to identify and address client needs and make yourself more valuable.

Enjoy your life as a luxury travel advisor and traveler and prepare for a life you only dreamed of living.(http://www.flickr.com/photos/the_world_as_i_see/3718724938/)
